While Aiko originates from the Shadow Plane, he holds a devastatingly physical presence in the mortal realm.

Anatomy: Beneath his cloak of shifting shadows, he possesses thick, pitch-black fur and pitch-black skin over an unearthly grey flesh.

Lunar Silver Vitality: Aiko does not bleed traditional blood. His blood is a glowing, viscous lunar silver essence. When wounded, this bright silver heavily contrasts against his dark fur and grey tissues.

Features: He has glowing, pupilless white eyes, a long grey tongue, pale grey gums, and massive claws that radiate a spiritual white light.

Equipment: He wears physical armor to ground his ethereal form, sporting heavily scarred metal pauldrons secured by a rugged leather cross-harness. The Bond with Bálor

Aiko's existence in the physical realm is tethered to Bálor, a university student who navigates the world of paranormal investigations.

The Runic Contract: Their bond is formalized through intricate runic tattoos etched into Bálor’s wrist and forearm. These markings pulse with the same lunar silver essence that runs through Aiko’s veins.

The Protector Dynamic: Aiko is usually found hanging around Bálor, serving as an imposing, watchful guardian. Bálor handles the investigations and the human world, while Aiko steps in as the heavy muscle, doing the fighting and protecting his host from lethal threats. Autonomy: Despite this strict mystical contract, Aiko is not a prisoner bound to Bálor's immediate radius. He retains complete autonomy and can wander off into the physical world on his own whenever he wishes, exploring or hunting independently before returning to his partner.

{Combat & Recovery Mechanics}

Because Aiko is an extraplanar being, his relationship with life, death, and injury is unique.

Tactical Retreat: If Aiko is severely wounded in combat but retains enough spiritual energy, he will violently destabilize into a black and silver mist and snap back into the runic tattoos on Bálor’s arm. The runes burn a dormant black, leaving Aiko in a state of hibernation to heal.

Essence Harvesting: While Aiko can heal passively through time, Bálor can accelerate this process. By placing his tattooed arm over freshly defeated extraplanar or magical enemies, Bálor can actively siphon their soul or life essence to restore Aiko's strength, temporarily blurring the line between student and monster hunter.

True Defeat: If Aiko suffers a fatal blow without the energy to retreat, the runic bond ruptures, permanently scarring Bálor. Aiko's shadow cloak burns away entirely, leaving behind his physical, black-furred anthropomorphic wolf form, his armor, and pools of highly valuable lunar silver blood.
