Tanak is a striking, bipedal spotted hyena with a lean, highly athletic physique built for agility and endurance. His coat consists of a muted golden-tan base covered in varied dark brown spots. Bright, striking green "Ritual Venandi" tribal markings are painted prominently across his body, slashing under his eyes, across his collarbone, wrapping around his biceps, and tracing a distinct pattern down his spine and along his bushy, spotted tail.

His head is framed by a massive, messy mane of thick dreadlocks, extensively decorated with small bone beads and metal rings that he claims as battle trophies. A dark tuft of fur runs down the center of his chest, partially obscured by a crude bone-tooth necklace.

His attire is purely functional and minimalist, prioritizing mobility. He wears a dark brown leather fauld and loincloth adorned with geometric tribal patterns. Thick, dark leather wrappings serve as bracers on his forearms, with matching leather bindings wrapping his lower legs and calves, leaving his digitigrade paws and sharp claws exposed.

Tanak operates entirely on vicious, primal instinct. He is exceptionally cruel, sadistic, and derives deep satisfaction from the pain and fear of his enemies. He carries himself with a deep-seated cockiness and arrogance, viewing almost everyone else as lesser beings or prey.

He is extremely hot-headed with a highly volatile temper, making him wildly unpredictable and prone to explosive violence at the slightest provocation. However, this chaotic savagery is tethered by one absolute rule: he is fiercely and exclusively loyal to his tribal leader. This singular devotion is unquestionable, and he will execute his leader's will with ruthless efficiency.

Tanak is an exceptionally skilled and lethal fighter, utilizing his wiry strength and predatory reflexes to overwhelm targets. He favors a dual-wielding combat style, utilizing a pair of curved "Ossuarium Daggers" crafted from solid bone with leather-wrapped grips. He also wields a stone-tipped spear decorated with feathers—a prized trophy acquired from a slaughtered foe.

Backstory

Born with a restless spirit and a hunger for dominance, Tanak was once a lieutenant in a traditional plains tribe. His arrogance and refusal to adhere to the stagnant ways of his elders eventually led to his exile. Refusing to fade into obscurity, he wandered the wildlands, seeking a place where his lethal potential could be forged into something greater.

His journey brought him to the doorstep of the Valaspar, a tribe composed of outcasts, criminals, and failed warriors. Thinking he could walk in and seize control of the fragmented group, Tanak challenged its leader, Korrath, to single combat. It was a decisive turning point in Tanak's life. Korrath, a middle-aged, battle-hardened veteran, systematically dismantled Tanak’s offense, forcing the younger warrior into the dust and ending the fight with a definitive display of tactical superiority.

Instead of resentment, Tanak found clarity. He recognized in Korrath the perfection of a warrior—a man who possessed the discipline he lacked. Tanak pledged his blade to the Valaspar, rising rapidly through the ranks to become the tribe’s primary enforcer and field commander. While Tanak believes he is the heart of the tribe’s rising influence, he is unknowingly the primary instrument of Korrath’s design. Korrath, a master tactician, permits Tanak to believe he is in charge, allowing him to lead raids and hunts while subtly guiding his hot-headed aggression toward the tribe's strategic goals. Today, Tanak serves as the devastating spear-tip of the Valaspar, an unstoppable force held on a short, firm leash by the only man he will ever obey.
