Statuses

I think it would be a great idea to have a status setting in which you can switch between, sort of like:

Always when logging in:
- Online

Currently dead:
- Make it so the "Dead" tag doesn't overwrite the Online/Offline status, we will know if the character is waiting out the time penalty and looking to go again, as you can only check to see if they are still logged in if you go onto their profile.

Searching for Ranked Match:
- In Queue for a Ranked Match.
- - - Also a feature in the "Ranked Match Searching" on the dashboard Tab that shows how many players in total are currently searching for a match, and then how many players in your rank-bracket is looking for matches. (Just so we won't have to press the "Seatch for Match" button to check this information and accidentally get locked into a match in which we weren't prepared for.)

In a Match (Both Unranked and Ranked)
- Currently Fighting
- - - (Optionally a button to check in on the match as an observer? Could be a switch both players would need to pres on their profiles to give consent to happening.)

Looking to challenge or be challenged:
- Looking for Challengers.
- - - This should be seen as an open invitation to fight them, as there's been plenty of times where you send people challenges, and they just ghost you. (Challenge invitations should also only last 10 minutes instead of being indefinite, nobody will wait multiple days for their challenge to be accepted, adn it will feel like it came out of nowhere if it did.)

Optional statuses:
- Looking for Rigged fight (as loser)
- Looking for Rigged fight (as winner)

- - - - -

On a secondary note:
I would like to see some kind of 'compatibility' tab that you can set on your profile, where you can show those viewing your profile that you might look to fight against a certain gender or any gender. - That you are not looking for just KOs or Deaths during your fights with other players. - That you prefer Fair fights (Within 10 levels of yourself), or rigged fights (as loser/winner). - etc. etc.

Not everything but a lot of this is what I've been thinking about as well. Maybe not as elaborate as f-list or even ARPDB (arpdb.undertow.club) but some kind of compatibility and preferences check should indeed be included. The question is how much of it is really needed to be part of the system for like matchmaking and stuff, and how much can just be written on your profile description?

The Challenge expiration - 10 minutes definitely not enough, I guess a better approach would be allowing to select the time the challenge will stay up. Maybe like a select field: 10 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours, 6 hours, 12 hours, 24 hours, 3 days, 7 days, 14 days. Either that or just manual entry of the time it should stay up for.

Also in terms of compatibility, maybe an "Fighting style preference" line would be necessary. Just seeing as there are some that prefer to do more of a "Tekken/Street Fighter (Swords and guns)" or "Mortal Kombat (Gore, maiming, broken bones)" style of fighting, and some would rather prefer conventional wrestling.

Maybe it should be presented as more of a "My Combat Style" and "I allow these Combat Styles" sort of way.

I added some of these, but I think right now it's not very useful. You can specify all of this on your profile, your preferences and so on. Structured data like you're describing is mostly needed for various matchmaking systems to work, or to make 'character search' features or compatibility scoring. As well as providing a little bit of extra motivation to fill those out, or even make aware that these things are important to some people.

However there's so much that people can worry about, that making a list that can account for everyone will quickly devolve into re-developing f-lists entire kink database. Not undoable, but is it really that important here? Especially now that we mostly only have like 10 people online at the same time.

It's certainly something to consider for later, but right now I think it's not that important.
