The ability to strip mid-fight and remove some of your equipped items would be nice.

I thought about it, but could not find a good idea about how to add it, from game design kind of way. Also do you mean removing items off yourself or from your opponent?
So stripping things off yourself might be an easy thing to do, mechanically speaking. Just drag and drop at any time, no problem. However what about the opponent? Should it be a "Move" that can have a chance to remove an item from the opponent? But how do you select which one? And it also takes up PS, is that something we'd want in a match, to trade PS that could've been used for some attack move for a strip move? Or should it be some form of separate mechanic? Maybe rock paper scissors? :D Like you get a popup saying that "your opponent is trying to remove X item from you. Choose R P or S to resist". Could also be an homage to the old UFL which was entirely built on RPS mechanics.
I'd love to add mid fight stripping if you can decide how it should be implemented.

Oh, my suggestion was to just do it to yourself.
Balancing it out might be hard with some kind of attack, but for now I'd say just being able to remove it yourself could do well. While competitiveness is part of it, there's a gentleman's agreement at all time between two fighters.

As in, you can only strip yourself as a voluntary action during your turn.

This could, however, be abused in a way that when someone realizes they are about to lose and they dont want to lose some kind of precious item on them to a trophy, they can strip it off before they are knocked out, so the opponent can't take it. Unless we make it useless by adding like an extra 'inventory' of items that were stripped. Currently they are just unequipped and disappear from the room entirely.

I mean that when an item is stripped instead of disappering it will show up in a separate kind of 'ring' field, where you can still take it from.

Thing is, there's always a chance to abuse things and working around that isn't always feasible. For example, if someone is in that state, what's preventing them from never passing their turn at the moment, since they could just do that and stall the fight. A timer could exist, but that puts a timer on people to post, and some folks can take their time typing out their stuff.
I think your idea of it could work as well, where they just go in a different container that allows them to still be taken as a trophy.

Yeah, I know. I'm not even trying to account for all possible cases of abuse. It's not possible, and not the goal. I guess just the most obvious ones.
As I mentioned before, the idea of the project is to be a fun sandbox for meta-gaming first, and true competitive fighting is not even second.
But I still want to find some good balance here.
Yes, I think the 'floor' container should be a good addition regardless. Something I thought about before anyway.

The floor container does indeed sound like a good idea. Eventually, the scope could even be extended to add a random chance of usable items appearing there that someone can use during that match, like the crowd throwing it in.
