Chits Usage: Hirelings

An interesting system would be the ability to get a hireling. Basically just another NPC that assists you by either attacking or buffing you (cheering you on). You'd pay per battle an amount of chits to have them come along.

I can one up you on that, I had an idea of hiring your own NPC fighters, who you can then pit against players or other NPCs and they can bring you back their winnings. And if you lose them.. you lose them. Virtual gladiators :D

One issue though is that in many ways it will basically mostly just be an LLM token burner. I mean it could just be algorithmic, some kind of algorithm to select moves to resolve combat (we already have 3 simple algos for that, from just 'random' to a bit smarter ones). And we can, for examply, only generate a narration at the end, not doing a play by play, but like a summary of what happened based on the log at the end.
But even then it's still potentially a lot of fights going that will just burn through tokens.
It's totally doable, and not hard on my side, but just requires more funding for the API or better hardware.

My own idea was that it'd be sort of like a combat pet. It doesn't cause narration or anything, just uses its moves or gives the player the ability to call upon its moves. It's up to the player to narrate it.
