PvE Dice Rolls

Akkla 2026-06-21 04:47
It would seem the NPC's have loaded dice!

When fighting against any difficulty NPC the Player will consistently roll on the low end of the spectrum ( 1-3 with maybe a single double digit roll ) -- Meanwhile the NPC will generally roll in the higher spectrum ( 17-20 with maybe a single low roll )

Not sure if something occurred with a recent update, but this has been noticed by multiple players!

Is it always like that, or do some fights seem like it's the other way around?

Seems to always be like that.

Are you still winning though? Through these matches?

I personally am. Not sure however for the other players experiencing this.

Is that the factor; To try and help give the NPC an advantage over the player?

Last update introduced dynamic difficulty. It has 2 modes of operation:

1. Onboarding - new players start with either an easy fight or a hard match, and then it alternates. This goes for the first 3 matches. This is done so that new players get to experience a win and a loss and hopefully get hooked, typical approach in gamedev.

2. After that it switched into dynamic difficulty adjusment based on whether you win or lose. Win a match - difficulty slightly increases. Then more and more until you start losing. Lose a match and difficulty goes down.

If you're rolling 1-3 and enemy 17-20 that means you likely beat their asses many times before. However if it jumps from normal to max difficulty quickly that means I need to adjust the numbers, it should be more gradual than that.

Please try again. If everything worked - it should've reset difficulty for all, and adjusted values should be in effect. It should not be as dramatic anymore.

Seems fine on my end now! I'll be sure to link this page to the other two players who had originally raised concerned about the dice mechanics.
