Privacy Policy

We are UFL 2.0 ("we", "our", "us"). We're committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. This policy describes what personal data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

When you register an account, we collect:

  • Username and password (passwords are stored as salted hashes and cannot be read by us);
  • Profile information you choose to provide, such as character biography, pronouns, gender identity, and avatar images;
  • Images you upload;
  • Messages and chat content you post in rooms and direct messages;
  • Feedback and reports you submit.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

When you use the Service, we automatically collect:

  • IP addresses, stored as SHA-256 hashes for administrative purposes (alt-account detection). We do not store raw IP addresses;
  • Session cookies required for login and security (CSRF protection);
  • ALTCHA proof-of-work tokens for bot prevention during registration and login.

1.3 Patreon Data

If you choose to link a Patreon account, we receive the following data from Patreon through their OAuth2 API:

  • Patreon user ID, display name, and email address;
  • Membership tier and status;
  • Pledge amount.

This data is used solely to grant membership benefits (Vouchers, Chits) and manage your account linkage. We do not share Patreon data with any third parties.

1.4 AI-Generated Content Data

When you use AI-powered features (narration, image generation), the following data is processed:

  • Fight context, character descriptions, and chat messages are sent to our AI provider to generate narration and scene descriptions;
  • Character reference images and avatar images are sent to our image generation provider to produce AI-generated images;
  • Voucher consumption records are logged for billing integrity.

We do not use your personal data to train AI models. AI prompts include character details (such as gender identity, physical description) only as necessary to produce contextually appropriate narration within the game.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Service;
  • Create and manage your account and character profiles;
  • Process Patreon-linked benefits (Vouchers, Chits);
  • Generate AI narration and images within the context of the game;
  • Moderate content and enforce our Terms of Service;
  • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and alt-account creation;
  • Communicate with you about your account, changes to the Service, or respond to your inquiries.

3. Data Retention and Archiving

3.1 Fight Data and Game Progression

Fight logs, game state, match results, and related technical data are retained for the lifetime of the Service. This data is structurally interlinked with other game systems and cannot be selectively deleted without breaking game integrity for other users. Published fight logs (those where all participants have consented to publication) are publicly accessible.

3.2 User-Generated Content

Messages, uploaded images (avatars, character references, chat images), and AI-generated images are retained for a limited time and then archived. We retain this data so that:

  • Players can review their past fights and stories;
  • Fight logs remain readable and complete;
  • Character histories are preserved for continuity.

Chat images uploaded to rooms are automatically deleted after 30 days.

3.3 Account Data

Account data (username, profile, preferences, game stats) is retained for the lifetime of your account. Login sessions and IP address hashes are ephemeral and rotated on a regular basis.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. We share data only in the following circumstances:

  • AI Service Providers: Character and fight data is sent to our AI provider as described in Section 1.4;
  • Image Generation Providers: Reference images are sent to our image generation cloud provider to produce requested images;
  • Patreon: Account linkage data is exchanged with Patreon's API as described in Section 1.3;
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities.

5. Data Deletion

5.1 What Can Be Deleted

You may request deletion of the following personal and cosmetic data by contacting our staff:

  • Uploaded images (avatars, character references, chat images);
  • AI-generated images associated with your account;
  • Narration text produced by the AI within your fights;
  • Direct messages you have sent;
  • Character biography and profile fields.

5.2 What Cannot Be Deleted

The following data is structurally required for game integrity and cannot be deleted:

  • Fight progression and game state data (rooms, turns, match results);
  • ELO ratings, XP, level, and statistical records;
  • Trade and marketplace transaction history;
  • Voucher and Chit transaction logs;
  • Bounty and challenge records;
  • Trust and vouch history;
  • Moderation logs (reports, mod actions).

These records are interlinked with other users' data and game systems. Removing them would break references, leaderboards, and game progression for other players.

5.3 How to Request Deletion

Until we implement automated self-service data deletion, you may request deletion of your eligible data by contacting us at wrecksler@gmail.com. Please include your username and specify which data you would like removed. We will process your request within 30 days.

6. Security

We implement reasonable security measures to protect your personal information, including:

  • Password hashing using modern cryptographic algorithms;
  • CSRF protection on all forms;
  • Session security (HttpOnly cookies, SameSite=Lax);
  • Rate limiting on authentication endpoints;
  • Proof-of-work (ALTCHA) verification on registration and login;

No method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

7. Cookies

Cookies are small text files set by us on your computer which allow us to provide certain functionality on our site, such as maintaining your login session and preferences. We use only essential cookies required for the operation of the Service. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics cookies.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access: You can view and edit most of your profile data directly through the Service;
  • Rectification: You can update your profile information at any time;
  • Erasure: You may request deletion of eligible data as described in Section 5;
  • Objection: You may object to processing of your data and close your account.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If we become aware that a child under 18 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete such information.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
