Documentation: Rp Recomendations

Basics

System is designed in a way that it relays messages between two fighters, allowing you to stay anonymous if you wish so.

To send IC message to your opponent use !ic message text. To send OOC message use !ooc message text.

"Message text" can be as long as you like, your regular f-chat message. In fact, if your message is too long, bot should automatically split it in multiple messages, but PM message limit is quite high anyway, around 50 000 characters (this is f-chat's limit, not bot's).

It is recommended to RP through bot as it will handle all the text formatting for you, making it easier to separate IC and OOC text. Right now it might not look like much, but eventually I will improve it.

Ways to RP \ Writing your

There are a few ways to approach post-writing with this bot. But whichever method you choose, do have fun, and don't let the system dictate the way you play. You're free to RP around it as you wish, and mix different approaches within your rp.

General writing methods and guidelines

Method 1: After the fact writing (Recommended)

First you wait till both opponents select a move. Then you write your posts. First posts the one who WON the move, as he needs to describe what move that was now. And the second posts the one who was hit, responding to the move. You write in a way like it already happened. You may or may not leave any hints as to what your next move is going to be in your current post.

This approach is recommended, as you don't give away your move like in some other methods. And you also have the opportunity to adapt your post to results of your move.

Method 2: After the fact writing reversed (Recommended)

It's the same as Method 1, except the one who lost the move always writes first.

Method 3: Intention writing

First you write you post, with your intentions. Do not write like it already happened, just like you're trying to do it, or intend to. Then select your move. Second player does the same. He writes his intentions, based on first player's post only, and then selects his move as well.

The flaw of this approach is that you may give your moves away. As if you describe that you try to punch someone, it's easy to assume that you will use "attack" as your move, allowing your opponent to predict it. However, there's also room to fool your opponent, by describing something like "attack" but choosing "grab" instead. In your next post you will then be able to say something like "suddenly changed his course of action, and went from punch to grab". This is perfectly legal :D

Method 4: A mix of the two

You can also try to mix both approaches in your RP. Or come up with your own way to play with the system and tell me about it! :)

How to understand moves and combinations

Some ideas on how to think about move combinations.

GRAB + GRAB

If both opponents seleted grab, you can consider this grappling, wrestling.

BLOCK + BLOCK

If both opponents seleted block, you can also consider this grappling, wrestling.

Block won

If block move won, you may consider first posting the attack move, so that your opponent knows what to counter. In this case the one who lost should probably move first.

PRO way to play! :D

As you can figure the system is designed to provide a lot of visual and even audio information. One of the reasons it's done is to help stimulate as much senses as possible, to set you in the right mood to have fun.

So, of course, you can play however you like. And there's nothing wrong with just ditching everything, and focusing purely on imagination, and for a lot of people it may even work better!

But here's a way to enjoy all features of the website.

Ideally you'll need two monitors, or at least a PC\laptop with a large monitor. In the beginning of the fight bot gives you links to fighter cards, stage reference image and description and music.

So ideally you should open fighter cards and stage reference and place them side-by-side somewhere on your monitor. This way you'll always see a slideshow of reference images of both fighters, in front of you. Music can play from the hidden tab.
